This room was inspired by multiple spaces. One of them being the Oak Room at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, CA. Another of the rooms that inspired this space was the English Great Room from the Thorne Room Collection at the Chicago Art Institute. The walls are made of Cherry wood and stained a deep rich color. The ceiling features carved plaster details in white with a chandelier and sconces by the incredible lighting artist Scott Hughes. The floor is hand painted to look like marble and hand polished to a smooth glossy finish. The leaded glass window is backlit and casts a soft natural glow over the entire room.
